A Brief Comment About Cookies

You are accessing a web site that allows "anonymous" access, which means you don't have to log on, sign up or sign in. This also means our web server doesn't know who you are!

We don't know which shopping cart is yours if we don't know who you are. This is the purpose of "Cookies".

Cookies are a token that our server and your browser pass back and forth. When our server sends a web page to your browser, it also sends a cookie (the token). When your browser sends a request to our server, it passes the cookie back. It's like a ticket at the laundry, you give us the ticket (cookie) and we know which bundle (shopping cart) is yours.

If your web browser has cookies turned off, it deletes (eats) cookies instead of returning them. With out your cookie (the ticket) our server doesn't know which shopping cart is yours.

There are alternatives to using cookies but the alternatives make it easy for hackers to attack the web site. (A great deal of the negative clamor about cookies has been from hackers).
